Taberna do Mercado is a joint effort between Nuno Mendes and head chef Antonio Galapito to capture and reinterpret Portuguese food and flavours whilst championing specially sourced Portuguese ingredients.

Offering a day in the life of a typical Portuguese ‘Lisboeta’, Taberna is open 7 days a week for petiscos, tinned fish, pregos and bifanas served with regional wines and beers to eat in or take away.


Our feasting menu starts at £35pp and includes some of Portugal’s best festive dishes, the centrepiece of which is a Portuguese-style suckling pig – the leitão assado – as it is known in Portugal is a suckling pig slowly roasted and basted until it develops a creamy texture. A crowd pleasing dish which serves as minimum of 10 people.
